Sisterly Love

Can you say "cheeks"

Addison is getting much better with Landry around.  She talks to Landry about all kinds of things (wish we knew what she was saying).

Addison's 2nd Haircut

Addison got her second haircut on January 13, 2011.  I can't believe that she's only had two haircuts and she's 21 months old.  She did so well this time compared to the first time.  She had a little help with keeping her still.  I packed the bag with books and then we stopped at McDonalds to get some french fries.  So the books and french fries did the trick and she sat still the entire time.  Her hair has grown so much since her first haircut and is much thicker (thank goodness).  Poor girl, she's going to have Momma's hair.

Addison: 21 Months

On January 23, 2011 Addison turned 21 months.  I haven't done an update on what's she's been up to lately, so I thought I would give you a little insight to what Addison's been up to.
  • Sweet, kind spirit
  • Gibber gabbers all day long
  • Vocabulary is getting better every day.  We know what's she's saying but the words are no very clear
  • Loves to be outside and throws a fit if she has to come inside
  • Socializing with others easily, especially since she has attended MDO at First Baptist Garland
  • Doesn't like to leave MDO.  Wants to stay at the church
  • Still doesn't eat fruits and vegetables very well
  • Wearing: Size 4-5 Diapers, 18 month clothes, 5.5 shoes
  • Really likes to watch airplanes outside
  • Has all of her teeth
  • Taking 1 nap a day (appox. 1-2 hours)
  • Better at playing by herself
  • Gets super excited when people come to the house to see her or when her Daddy comes home
  • Very independent, strong minded personality.  Hard headed and wants everything her way.
  • Discipline consists of time out.  She hates when her daddy tells her no.  She gets her feelings hurt quickly.
We love you baby girl and love you little personality.  You are so much fun and have the funniest laugh.  You are always looking to both Daddy and me for confirmation.  You are so loving and we look foward to you turning two.  May you prove the world wrong and not go through terrible twos.

Landry trying to get rid of thrush

For the past four weeks, Landry has been trying to get of thrush.  She has been a trooper.  The first medication we tried didn't do much of anything, so we switched to Diflucan.  Well the Diflucan wasn't make much of a difference, so I called the pediatrician's office again and we went in yesterday to get it looked at.  The doctor thought the same thing....it was still there.  Since we had tried both of the medications that are used for thrush, she increased the dosage of the Diflucan. We started the increased dosage yesterday, so I'm sure hoping that it gets rid of it.  I really think Landry will be a much happier little baby when she's eating and just hanging out.  Thrush causes crabiness, so say a little prayer that we can get rid of the thrush sooner than later.

Stat: Weight was 12.25 pounds

Landry's 1st Visit to New Boston

Since we didn't go home for Christmas, this was our first trip back to New Boston since September 2010.  Landry got to smell the air of the farm.  Jordan and I were worried about the trip but the girls did great.  Landry slept the whole way and thank goodness for DVD players in the car for Addison.  We had a great time.  I cherish the time we get to spend in New Boston, because I know they wont' be as frequent now that we have two kids.  It's much easier for my family to come this way.

Addison Meeting Reindeer

Our HOA had Santa Claus and his reindeer one night for the residence.  Since I was stuck in the hospital my mom decided to take her to see Santa Claus.  Well, we were right....she hated Santa Claus and the reindeer.  The only pictures that my mom could get of Addison was with the reindeer.  Addison, one day you'll like Santa.

Snow Day

We had our first snow in Texas and it was beautiful.  It was nice that Addison was old enough this year to enjoy it.  It was so cold.  I know she doesn't have a hat on.  She wouldn't have worn one and we don't have clothes ready for weather like this.  This is Texas right?  She loved it and threw a fit when she had to come inside.  Hopefully we'll be more prepared next time.  Rubber boots purchase is in our future.

She ran through the snow over and over and over

Bath Time

Disclaimer: this is not Landry's first bath.  Jordan and I forgot to take pictures of the first bath, so we figured better late than never.  For the most part, Landry enjoys getting a bath.  She's usually pretty calm (not crying) but her body is tense.  The part she doesn't like the most is lotioning up after her bath.  She would rather me skip that step.
Look at all that hair - it sticks straight up after her bath

Please Open

I took Addison and Landry to the playground by the pool and Addison noticed the pool and slides at the pool.  She grabbed my hand and ran over there and wanting to go in so bad.  As you can tell - she was standing on the rails of the gate.  I keep telling her that she'll have to be potty trained before she can go down the slides.  We'll see if we have that done in time for the summer.

Randi capturing Landry at the Hospital

Randi and Chris came by the hospital to see Miss Landry and Randi snapped a few pics of Landry.  Look at those cheeks - so big.  I just squeeze them every chance I get.  Thanks Randi.  Not sure why they are showing up so small but when I try to make them bigger the piscals are blurry.

Howell Christmas

My side of the family had Christmas on Dec. 18th in New Boston, and unfortunately we weren't able to make it.  We thought it would be best for our little family to stay at home with the new addition and recovering from surgery.  So my parents, brother's family, and my grandparents came by the house the Sunday after Christmas to open gifts.  I have never gone without seeing my family at Christmas so I was so excited that they came to Dallas.

Griffin Christmas 2010

This is the only picture that we got at Jordan's parents' house at Christmas.  I told myself I would be better at taking pictures this year but it was harder than I thought with a baby in my arms.  Maybe next year.

Christmas 2010

Addison's Barbie Power Wheels from Santa that she hates.  She doesn't like it when she pushes the button and takes off.
Addison woke up at 9:00a.  We just knew she would be up early but we waited and waited and finally she awoke.  Addison's not a morning person, so we have to let her get her glass of milk every morning and sit with one of in the recliner while watching cartoons (preferrably Mickey Mouse).
 Crayons for the bathtub
Landry just went with the flow
We can't forget Buddy.  He made it another year.  He'll be 10 years old in May.
