Sick Days

Whenever you go to the doctor with one child, you know you're going to be going again for the other in days to come.  That's just how it works.  One gets sick and then everyone gets sick.

Addison was sick about 1 1/2 ago so we took both of the girls to the doctor to see what was going on.  Neither one of them had much of an appetite but Landry wasn't too bad.  Addison came back with strep and RSV and Landry just RSV.  So we got Addison started on antibiotics and began down the road of sickness.

Landry was getting any better, worse actually.  We loaded up the car again and went to the pediatrician's office.  Addison knows where to turn and can point out the building since we've been so much lately.  Landry came back with a double ear infection, RSV, and strep.  She hit the home run.

Later that day I made an appointment with our family practitioner, because I wasn't feeling too hot either.  I came away with a script to clear me up.  So from Thursday to Sunday were fun filled days with me and the girls hanging out at the house recouping from various ailments.

Landry has since gone to the doctor to get her RSV looked at.  One of her ears was still a little red (another antibiotic to heal that) and they want us to continue doing the breathing treatments till Thursday.  Everyone's on the uptick, but I'll be glad when this is all over.

She lasts about 2 minutes and then it's a fight.  Addison gets so upset when Landry is yelling because she thinks I'm hurting her.  It's so sweet.

Faces of Landry

This girl gives us so many different faces throughout the day.  She keeps us so busy and always on the go.  Jordan say she doesn't remember Addison being this big of a handful but I beg to differ.  She keeps us busy but melts our heart with every smile and hug.

Dancin' Party

Almost every night the girls and I end up in Addison's room dancing/jumping on her bed.  She has a little cd player in her room that she just loves to turn the music up really loud.  They think it is so funny to jump/dance all over the bed.  They cackle the entire time.  I need to get a video of it.

Mechanics at Work

Addison has a thing for hammers, screw drivers, etc.  She loves to watch her daddy use tools and copy what he does.  He had the toolbox out last weekend organizing it, which was right up Addison's ally.  She grabbed some tools and went to work.

Bow Holder Project

I've completed a few home improvement projects around the house in the last few weeks and getting the girls bows more organized was one of them.  I had bows in Addison's closet and some in Landry's.  When I needed a certain one, it would never fail that it was in the other girl's room.  We have now solved that problem.  I knew we had a lot of bows (I know there are some girls that have tons more but this is a lot for us), but I didn't think I would have to use almost all of the ribbon space.  You almost have to have two of each color, because they may need the same color the same day.  Girls are so complicated, but are so precious.

Church

Last Sunday we got all dressed up for church.  Too bad we weren't able to go this Sunday.  Both girls have runny noses and a cough.  I think Landry might have strept again.

It's been forever since I've gotten a picture of me with the girls.  This is the normal pose for Addison - running away from the camera or ducking her head.

Love them so much!!
She's the only one that will take a picture with me.

I Can Go Anywhere & Do Anything

I CAN GO ANYWHERE & DO ANYTHING (Landry's motto)

She ended up standing straight up on top of the table.  You probably think I'm a bad parent, but I promise I was right there the entire time.

Duck, Duck, Goose

After Landry's pictures, Jordan and Addison met us at the park to feed the ducks.  Addison absolutely loved it.  Landry wanted to get in the water and grab the ducks.  It was the perfect day and the girls had so much fun.  We had never been to this park before, but it's on our places to go now.  It has a huge bond and a playground area (Breckenridge Park in Richardson).

Happy New Years

Happy New Years!!!

We just had an evening with the two of us, and we had a blast.  We went out to Capital Grill downtown and had the most delicious meal and then came home and enjoyed peace and quite.  We are so excited for what 2012 has in store for the Griffin family.  The Lord is our guide and may we follow Him with excitement and love.

Love this guy!!!

PaPa's 90th Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Papa's 90th Birthday!!!  It was great for the family to get together and celebrate such a loving man.  He loves the Lord and his family so much!  It is definitely a great example to his family of how a man should be.

Our Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Griffin home - almost a month later.  I kept thinking I would add more pictures to this post, so that's why it's taken me a while to put it up.  However, I don't have more pictures, so I'm just going to go ahead and post.  We took a lot of video but video doesn't really print well in a blog book (that's the whole purpose of the blog), so we'll just go with the few snap shots I was able to get.

What an exciting year in our home for Christmas.  We had Jonah, our Elf on the Shelf leading up until Christmas and Addison still asks about him.  Where did he go?  Where's Jonah?  It's January 16th and she's still singing Jingle Bells, Rudolf, etc.  I think our girl is a fan of Christmas.  Both Gingy and us bought a Christmas cd to play in the car, and it was played every single time we got in the car.  I think we learned our lesson this year not to do it next year, but it was the cutest thing listening to hear sing and Landry get excited when she heard it come on.  I'll have to debate on what to do next year.

Addison decided that Santa Claus would like brownies better than cookies, so Santa got brownies.
He even left them a little note before he left.
For months Addison had been asking for a pink stroller.  I told her that she needed to ask Santa for it.  Any time you asked her what she wanted from Santa, it was a pink stroller.  Santa was a good listener.

Monkey

Landry is known as the monkey around the house.  She climbs everywhere, no matter if she fits or not.  She loves to get in the easel.  Most of the time she figures out how to get out but it's hilarious watching her climb in and then watch her little brain tick trying to figure out just how she wants to try and get out. She has no fear of heights or anything.

Griffin Christmas

Christmas Eve we headed over to Jordan's parents' to celebrate Christmas with them.  We had a great time and this was the first year in a while that everyone was in attendance.  I know Gingy was on cloud nine with all of her chicks home.  The girls were so excited about all of their gifts and so were their parents.  Thanks Alyson and Marty.

I tell you, this girl loves her some tractors, trucks, etc.  She's slowly moving over to the baby dolls and girlie things but her heart is with things with motors.
Landry just enjoyed eating paper.  I don't doubt that some made it to the stomach.
She looks so grown up here.  We got her hair cut in a little bob the day before and it's the cutest thing when she let's me blow dry it and flip it under.

Cash register - this girl already knows how to swipe a credit card at the store.

Howell Christmas

We started our Christmas celebrations in New Boston with my dad's side of the family.  We didn't make it last year since Landry was a newborn, and we didn't want to get her out with only being two weeks old.  We had so much fun and it was so entertaining to watch Addison interact with all the boys in our family.  Poor Addison and Landry are the only girl great grandchildren.

This girl can eat, and eat anything.  She loved her deviled egg.

She looked so cute with her pig tails but I didn't get a picture.  She looked so grown up.
