West Nile

These little guys are causing havoc in Dallas/Ft Worth area.  I usually only posts about the girls and family, but I wanted to document this for the girls in their books.  I'll be interested to see what comes out of it in 10-20 years.

Below is from the Dallas Morning News about the West Nile Virus.

North Texas’ West Nile epidemic is infecting more people per capita in Tarrant County than in Dallas, though fewer serious cases have been reported.
But the virus has claimed a much higher death toll in Dallas County than in surrounding counties. Ten of the 14 deaths in the region have been Dallas County residents.
The mosquitoes in Dallas County are not necessarily more lethal. But Dallas County has seen a higher incidence of the more severe neuro-invasive type of the virus, which may cause meningitis, encephalitis and paralysis, and can have a higher mortality rate. About 55 percent of the 242 reported cases in Dallas have been neuro-invasive.
The less serious West Nile fever tends to affect younger patients and has been the predominant form of the illness in Tarrant County. Only about 29 percent of the 199 reported cases in Tarrant have been neuro-invasive.

Aunt Katie's Birthday

We celebrated Aunt Katie's birthday August 12th.  Happy Birthday Aunt Katie!!!  Just a few snapshots from the celebration (not professional at all).

Addison would sit here all day
I think someone thinks her Aunt Katie is so cool
 No nap = No smile

East Texas Love

A few more snap shots from the girls time with their MeeMaw and Grandaddy in East Texas.  They had a blast and loved every minute of it.

Addison conned MeeMaw into getting her ANOTHER baby.
When she was one I would have never thought she would sit this close to her Grandaddy.  Now she's wrapped around his finger.

This Girl Loves Machines

This little girl could not be happier.  She loves tractors, bulldozers, etc.

Feeding the Cows

Headed out to feed the cows cubes
Thanks PawPaw for the gentleness of your cows.  They are so sweet.
The smiles on their faces - Priceless
She learned a new word - Bull

1st Feed Store Trip

Oh the things you get to experience when you're from a small, country town.  The girls took their first trip to the local feed store with my parents.  They soon would realize later that they were going to get to feed the cows cubes and have a blast doing it.

I'm sure William showed them all the ropes

Mini Vacay

Jordan and I were sitting on the couch one evening and looked at each other and both were thinking the same thing - we need to get away.  That meant just the two of us.  Graciously my parents agreed to keep the girls so we could go on a mini vacay.

We decided to stay pretty close and ended up going to Lakeway Resort and Spa.  It's right outside of Austin, but felt like we were away from the hustle and bustle.  We had a great time and it reenergized us for sure.  I needed some alone time with my honey.  It definitely helped that there was a three level adult only pool.  That was a requirement of where we decided to go.

William Weekend

While William was here we took advantage of the pool.  I'm pretty sure that's the main reason he came to see us.  Either way, we'll take it.  The girls have been able to spend a lot of time with William this summer and boy do they enjoy it.  Addison's accent is getting "country" because she's been around William a lot.  It's so funny to hear the twang.
It had just stormed, so it was really cool out.  We didn't take a chance with Landry, so she didn't get to swim one night.  My mom, however, let her walk on the pool steps in her Crocs and shorts.  Grandmas can get away with that.
William was a little fish.  He was everywhere.  I thought he might try the fast, blue slide but it was a no go this year.  Maybe next year.
Daddy and Addison.  She started swimming by herself without freaking out, so her daddy got her a Spiderman lunchbox.  She was so excited.  From that moment on, she has been swimming everywhere on her own.

Nothing like a little ice cream after a hard swim.

In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue

I have been lacking on the blogging front lately.  Not sure why.  I've had opportunity, but just didn't feel like it.  I think, like with all things, we just need a break sometimes.  Speaking of breaks, I'll be blogging soon about the hubby and my mini getaway.  Until then, I snagged a few pictures from my mom's camera of a few events.

Below are some more pictures of the Exotic Wildlife Rescue we took our nephew and the girls to a few weeks ago.

I just want to get in and pet one Mom

 Little nervous
Believe me, my mom's camera is not that good.  We were just that close.  You are within 10 5 yards of them.
Really?  I don't want to take a picture.
