Finished Patio

I finally have a "grown up" patio as Jordan would call it.  We have enjoyed it so much since we bought it.  It's nice to just sit out there and enjoy watching the girls play in the backyard or enjoying a glass of wine after the girls are in bed.  Now all we need is a heater for the cold days.

Forever Ago

Do you remember forever ago when I used to blog close to every other day?  Me too.  So why the lag of posting.  Simple.  Job change.  I have a whole post to write about this and I will before the end of the year but for now apologies to those that read the blog, especially family.

Our Little Ballerina

Addison Lea has started pre-ballet, and she loves it.  We went a few weeks ago to pick out her ballet outfit for class at the studio.  I let her pick out whichever colors and style she wanted to wear.  She was so excited.  Gingy took her to her first class.  You can watch them on a television in the lobby and she said that she followed instructions very well and did everything she was supposed to do.  Addison told Gingy that she worked really, really hard.  She worked so hard that it made her hungry.  Haha.  I love it.  As soon as I got home from work she showed me how to plie, etc.

Back Porch

For some reason, I think it's because Jordan wants to put a TV outside on the back porch but he gave the thumbs up to get some "nice" outdoor furniture.  As soon as he said go, this girl ran and ran fast to the internet on the search for furniture.  Outdoor furniture is on sale right now but a lot of it is starting to be out of stock due to the time of year.  I knew I needed to find something quick and I knew pretty much what I wanted.  I wanted rockers.  I grew up around rockers at my great grandparents house and that was a must.  I could sit and rock all day.  I found the set below at Target and love them.  I have been out there every night rocking away while the girls play.  I'm still waiting on the love seat to come in the mail.

Friday night after the girls went to bed, I snuck out on the porch and had a glass of wine.  Oh how I needed it.
Saturday afternoon Jordan and I hung up curtains for the west side of the house.  The sun come in the evening and this will allow us to sit outside any time of the day with the two fans under the pergola and not sweat in the Texas heat.

Thank you Jordan for putting a big smile on my face.  I know once we get a tv and speakers installed your smile will be complete.  I love you and like you say, "now we're liven."

2013-2014 MDO Begins

My eyes tear up every semester the girls start their first day back.  They are growing up so fast.  I can remember each one of their very first days at a MDO program.  They both cried and cried for weeks.  What a different story it is now.  Addison walked right into her class and had a note on her folder from the day saying she was smiley all day.  Love it.  Landry's report was good also.  They said she cried just for a bit and then was sweet all day.  That makes this momma happy.  The MDO program they are attending has been great for them in so many ways (i.e. social, mental, etc.).  I love how they learn about the Bible while getting ready for Kindergarten.  I know that learning about both will help equip them for the world ahead.  May God bless and protect our girls and their teachers in this year of MDO.

Momma didn't get dressed up for the first day, because I painted our master bedroom for the next 8 1/2 hours.  Pics to come soon.  Love these girls to pieces.

Football Season

Football season has begun and I don't anyone more excited than Jordan.  He loves to take the girls to the football stadium close to our house every year.  The girls love it, especially the band.  It was so cute to watch them enjoy the game this year.  They understand more and more each year.  Addison can still remember the mascots from the teams we watched last year.  I think the band is more interesting to Addison and the football for Landry.  I know Jordan loves the games and would love to be a part of the game, but it makes Momma happy that he's home on the weekends during football season.  I can't imagine parenting through a football season.  God bless all coaches wives.  They have a special patience that you need to survive.
