Train @ the Playground

With the weather beautiful outside, we decided to head out to the mall to get a few things done.  We took Addison to the playground, along with everyone else's kids.  She loved it.  She is starting to look so grown up.  Where has the time gone?

Jungle Gym Time

Someone has started to notice things all around her.  She'll stay under the jungle gym for 5 minutes or so and then she's ready to get out from under there.  She would much rather someone entertain her than something.  Addison gets under there with her and talk to her and tries to show her all the different things hanging and the various music options.

Valentines Weekend

My parents came in for Valentines weekend.  I knew my mom was coming but then my dad called on Friday night saying he was a about 45 minutes ahead of my mom on his way to our house.  Surprise!  What a nice surprise.  We had a great time.  Jordan and I really love when we can get some assistance with the girls and the girls love when they get to see them.

They got her a baseball tee and she loves it.  Yeah!  Maybe we'll have another athlete in the family.  Jordan was so excited that she wanted to play with.  Of course, Dad had to make sure her hands were lined up perfectly every time.  Start 'em off right from the  beginning so you don't have to break a bad habit.

February 9: Snow Round 2

Here we go again.....round 2 of snow.  I enjoyed the first snow, but we're ready for warm weather around our household.  Addison has done so well being stuffed inside all day, but deep down she wants to be outside so bad - as you can tell in the first picture.

Aunt Katie came over for the day.  They're watching Cinderella.

Snow Playdate

With the bad weather and us being stuck at home, Ashley and I decided that Kate and Addison could enjoy another playdate.  Kate had a lovely playroom that Addison just loved.  It's like she hit the jackpot.  She had the best time.  Kate's favorite toy of the evening was Landry's car seat.  It was so cute.  She sat in it and just rocked and ate an apple.  Landry was just glad to be out of the car seat, so she was glad it was occupied so she didn't have to be put back in it.  Thank you Kate for inviting us over to play!!!

February 4, 2011

So I started back to work from my maternity leave on Monday January 31, 2011.  From February 1-4 I was unable to go to work due to inclement weather - rain, sleet, snow.  Below are some pictures of the snow that we had on that Friday I was at home.  It was beautiful.  I was going to let Addison go play in it but since she had already enjoyed snow earlier in the year and she had a runny nose, I passed.  I had to document all of the snow though.  It was crazy.  It's hard to believe the Super Bowl would be held in Dallas that weekend.

Landry: 2 Months

Landry turned 2 months on February 2, 2011.  She had her 2 month appointment on February 7, 2011.  Below are her stats and some tid bits of what she's doing lately:

  • Weight: 12 lbs, 13 oz (90%)
  • Length: 23 1/4" (75%)
  • Head: 18 1/2 (50-75%)
  • Found her hands
  • Knows familiar voices and follows them
  • Loves watching Buddy walk around and the fan
  • Cooing
  • Smiles a lot in the morning time
  • Wants to be held all the time - doesn't like to not be in the middle of the conversation
  • Eating 4-5 ounces/feeding
  • Sleeps through the night 3-4 times/week.  Otherwise she gets up around 3:00a
  • Swaddled at bedtime
  • Sleeps on her belly for naps.  Naps are usually around 9:00a and 3:00p/4:00p and last about 3 hours.
  • Takes Prevacid every night for her reflux
  • Trying to get her thrush to go away
  • Wearing 3-6 month clothing, even though we have to roll up the pants.  3 month pants are too tight in the waist
  • Starting to grab for things

Saturday Mornings at the Griffin Household

Saturdays at our house are filled with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  We usually don't get out of our pajamas until around 11:00a.  Jordan goes to his second job and us girls just kind of hang out around the house until he gets home.  It was nice outside the other day so Addison got outside.

Fun In The Sun

Addison loves to be outside and more importantly for you to be out there with her.  She does not like to play alone.
If you're having a bad day, just look at that smile!  We love you sunshine!

Landry's 1st Smile Caught on Camera

Landry decided to really start smiling at around 8 weeks old. Now she smiles all the times.  Her favorite times to smile are in the morning when you come to get her out of her crib.  I think she knows that she's going to finally get out of there and be held.  The girl is spoiled.  She loves to be held.

These are the best pictures, but I had my phone in the chair so I snapped a few.  I will work on getting some better ones with the camera.

To My Valentine...

my husband.  I usually use the blog for the girls, but today is dedicated to the love of my life and best friend - Jordan.  What an amazing husband, father, friend, and supporter you are.  God has truly blessed my life with you as my partner to share life's joys with.  Sometimes I feel guilty that I have such a good marriage, but believe me I appreciate you more and more every day.  You are the most selfless person I know (even when it comes to changing channels on the TV for Addison - ha).  You never stop amazing me.  You never forget to tell me how much you love me and how much you appreciate me, which makes my heart smile every day.  I thank you for being more than I could pray for in a husband.  May we continue to show each other love every day and not just on Valentines Day.  God bless our love for each other and our lovely family.

Landry's Hair Personality

Landry's hair has its own personality.  This is what the back wants to do at all times.  I have tried water, hairspray, gel, lotion and nothing works to keep it down.  So for now we will watch it grow and hopefully eventually lay down.

Mother-Daughter Time

Before I went back to work, I took Addison for the day to have some mother-daughter time.  We had a great time.  I think she really enjoyed getting away from the house and the focus being totally on her.  We went to Stonebriar Mall.  She got to play on the soft and play area (not as good as I thought it would be) and ride the carousel.  I even decided that she could eat her favorite for lunch - pizza.

We did all of the fun kid stuff first and then decided to take a potty break before getting in the car to come home.  I really think she had more fun looking and talking to herself in the ladies room.

Changing Every Day

Just snapped a few pictures of Landry while she was hanging out on the changing table.  I feel like I never take pictures of her awake.  Maybe that's because she's always asleep.  Looking at pictures makes me realize that she is growing so fast.  It's harder to notice the looks changing by just looking at them in person every day.  She has the biggest blue eyes.  I sure hope they stay that color.  We love precious!

Playdate with Kate

We invited our sweet friend, Kate down for a playdate the other day.  We live a half a block away but we don't seem to get together as often as we should.  We're going to work on that now that the girls are older and can do more than just lay there and look at each other.

Half the time the girls were more interested in talking to Landry and trying to feed her
