Easter Egg Hunt #1

Let the Easter egg hunts begin.  We started off attending my home town church Easter egg hunt.  There were bounce houses, face painting, and egg hunting.  The kids had a great time and it was nice to see people I hadn't seen in a while.  As we all know Addison is clingy and she didn't let us down at the hunt.  She was on my mom's hip the entire time.  We'll see how she does next year.

Potty Training

I've decided that Addison should be getting ready to start potty training, so I went ahead and got a little pink potty for her.

Here's what it looks like but pink.

I mentally have not prepared myself to go full force with the potty training yet.  I think I have to be prepared before I start getting Addison mentally started.  I know she has to be ready to, but I know if I don't go 100% then she won't follow.  I've got to be her #1 fan.  I think I'm going to be with the calendar and sticker reward system.  I'll be sure to keep you updated with our progress.

FYI: Addison pottied in the potty 3 times the other night.  Yipee!  We're working on her going before bath at night right now.

Elmo is now Addison's new friend.  He goes with her everywhere.  Literally.

Wordless Wednesday: True Love

Umbrella

Below is a picture of my new "protection."  We do not have a covered porch and the sun beats down in our backyard, so we needed an umbrella or some type of covering during the blazing sun summer months.  I have been looking for an tilt umbrella for months, because I was not going to pay hundreds of $$$.  I finally found one at Garden Ridge for $80 (base and all).  Yeah!

We  got chairs for the porch too, but I don't have a picture of those yet.  My dream house will have a huge covered back porch, kind of like a living room outside.  (Hope you're reading this honey)

Fill & Pour

Addison loves to play in the water.  Her favorite thing to do is fill up a container and pour into another.  She could literally do this over and over and over.  Of course she wants to be in control of the water pressure, which I have to say she does pretty well and not making it go full blast.

"Really Mom?"

Landry: 4 Months

Landry turned 4 months on April 2nd, but the bad mom that I am I'm just now getting to writing a post about it.

Landry - you are such a joy in our lives.  You are the most continent baby unless you're hungry.  When I was pregnant with you I didn't know how I would love a child as much as my first, but believe me girl you've got me wrapped.  I melt every time I see your smile and hear you talk.  I enjoy our bedtime conversations aka your attempt to stay up a little longer.  haha.  Those moments that we have just the two of us are priceless for me.  I am so proud to be your momma and I know your Daddy thinks the same.  We look forward to the young lady you will become!  Always know that Mommy and Daddy are here for you!  We love you!

4 month stats and tid bits:
  • Weight: 15 lbs 9 oz (75-90%)
  • Length: 25 1/4" (75%)
  • Head: 16 1/2" (50-75%)
  • Have control of your hands and you love to watch them grab things
  • Everything goes in your mouth
  • Bottle feeding: 4-5 ounces per sitting, 20-24 ounces per day (not much for your size, but you know when you're done)
  • Smiles at everything
  • Talking
  • Don't want to roll over yet, but will grab your feet and roll on your side all day long
  • Size 3 diapers
  • 6 - 9 month clothes
  • Sleeping in a sleep sack with your hands out
  • Sleeping: 2-3 naps/day, bedtime 9:00p - 7:30a

Play set: Finished Product

So here is the finished product - a play set for our girls.  Thank you to my dad, husband, and mom for all the blood, sweat, and patience that you had towards this project.  Addison would play on it for hours a day if we would let her.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!  Everyone just put money in to get the play set, so this present is a gift for many!

I'm glad that this think is pretty sturdy, because Addison wants you to swing with her on the glider.  Only time will tell its strength.

A New Journey

Just when I think our life is boring, my husband always comes up with something to change our lives and not just a small change.

Let me just start off by saying how much I love my husband.  God blessed my life beyond measure when he allowed me to become his wife.  I have never doubted Jordan in providing for our family or being the head of the house.  He truly follows God's teachings when he says the man should provide for the house.  Thank you Jordan for always giving me comfort in knowing that you will provide - financially and spiritually.

Jordan started a new job on Monday and so far really likes it.  He got back into pharmaceuticals with a company called Daiichi Sankyo Inc.  I'm excited that it will allow him to have more flexible family time. I wish you all the best babe!  I know you'll kick butt!

Gingy/Alyson/Mom 60th Birthday

Saturday we celebrated Jordan's Mom's 60th Birthday!  We did it really low key but perfect for our family.  It was held at Mattitos in Dallas.  We had a great time, and I think the birthday girl enjoyed the party.  Would have done better with pictures, but I forgot to put the battery in our camera.

Playset: Some Assembly Required

When I started thinking about what to get Addison for her 2nd birthday, I knew quickly that a playset in the backyard would be perfect.  The girl loves to be outside and throws a fit when she has to come in.  It would also benefit Gingy.  Gingy will be able to let her outside to play and take care of Landry.  It's a lot of trouble to pack up both girls and head down to the park (only 1/2 mile from our house).  This should make everybody happy (especially me).

So let the daunting task of putting the playset together begin.  I looked online for months at various playsets and decided we wanted didn't want to spend a lot of money but enough to get a quality playset.  I found one on Walmart.com but I had read the reviews and knew that it was going to take many hours to put it together.

My parents come in two weekends in a row to help us put it together.  Before they got there Jordan and I unloaded the boxes and organized everything (1 hour).  We put the playset together for 6 hours the first weekend and 4 the next.  We are so thankful for my dad's help.  He was amazing!!!  I really mean it - amazing!  Jordan and I would have been still putting it together on Addison's 3rd birthday.  Thanks Dad!!!  I told my dad that it was great quality time with the family and his response was "I could think a lot of other things to do to have quality family time."

Addison just had to help.  I just love that she had on her overalls while being handy.

I'll have the final pictures for you on another post!  Hope you enjoy this Addison!  Blood, sweat, and a lot of patience went into this.

Uncle Gray

Addison has never been really enjoyed men besides her Daddy but she has really taken to her Uncle Gray.  The other night he came over and she loved it.  I think she brought him every book we had for him to read to her.  Thanks Uncle Gray for your patience.

Big Girl Chair

I know Landry gets bored just laying on the floor or in her bouncy seat, so I'm trying to give her some new views.  She'll sit in the bumbo for about 5 minutes and she's ready to get out.  Not sure the bumbo is for her, which it wasn't Addison's favorite either.  Maybe it's their chubby legs.  haha.  But doesn't she look so different here?  She's growing so fast but I hope she never gets rid of her little cheeks.

Addison Stuck in the Bouncy Seat

I told Jordan we needed to get the bouncer down so Landry could start sitting in it.  Well look who thinks they need it more than Landry?
