Nina & PaPa

Tomorrow we will be celebrating Papa's 90th Birthday (his birthday is actually January 2).  Family will gather and share all of the great memories that they have of him and wish him many more years of making memories.  I wanted to jot down a few memories that  the girls know of Papa and Nina's.
  • Every Wednesday Gingy takes the girls over to their house to eat lunch and stay for the afternoon.
  • Girls don't have to take a nap on Wednesday afternoon, unless it's on their way home in the car.
  • They always have a cookie jar, chocolate covered raisins and CheezIts
  • They cook lunch for the girls
  • Addison gets to play the piano and touch the very delicate things that Nina has
  • Addison tells me first thing when I get home from work on Wednesday that she saw Nina and Papa.
  • Addison never says Nina without saying Papa.  The two names have to be said together.
What a blessing it is to know that Addison and Landry will remember their great grandparents.  I am thankful that Alyson takes them over there every week.  It's good for the girls and Nina and Papa.  We love them so much and thank them for loving our girls so much!

Happy 90th Birthday!!!

Landry's Party Continued

I know this is like the third post of Landry's birthday, but I keep getting pictures of her party from various sources and want to document the occasion.  It's not often that we get both of our families together.

Best picture I could get of her little outfit
 Grandaddy
 Family and gifts everywhere
Doesn't she look so interested in what the card says?
 MeeMaw
Addison couldn't be left out of getting a present

 Look at my beautiful clothes
 We're good....
 not so good...
no hat and a cake are much better than a brownie
Loves to get her face cleaned

 Loved Bevo Pillow Pet
Coach getting into the party mode

I love how she's holding his hand.  The comparison of her hand vs his hand in size.

Family Blessing

When I was dating Jordan, I knew he was the one I wanted to marry within 2 weeks (crazy, but true).  He had won me over but I knew I really wanted to meet his parents too.  As they say when you marry your husband, you marry his family too.  Well I hit the jackpot.  They are amazing.  I knew they were a true blessing before we had our girls but now I am reminded constantly of how selfless they are (especially Gingy).  Oh how I love how she loves our girls like they were her own.  Thank you Alyson for your love and dedication in preparing them to become young ladies.  We will be forever grateful!

Landry's Party Details

What do you do for a little girl's 1st Birthday party when it's so close to Christmas?

PINK CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!!!

So when I started working on decorations for the party, I just incorporated our Christmas decorations and added lots of pink.  Jordan commented that he never thought our house would be decorated in pink for Christmas.  That was before he knew he would have two girls.  I loved how it all turned out.

Mantel
child proof gate
cookies, cake, punch

In the dining room I wanted to do something a little more dramatic than normal Christmas decorations.  I kept thinking I wanted to look like a canopy.  So I went to the Dollar Tree and got 12 pink, plastic table cloths and hung them on the ceiling.  Easy and cheap but made a dramatic difference!!!

Landry's 1 Year Stats

Happy Birthday Landry Belle!!!

Landry turned 1 on December 2nd.  I'm still in awe that she's already one.  I can remember those nights when she had colic and crying and crying.  Believe you me, I don't want to go back to those nights but I would love to be able to hold my little baby girl and watch her sleep.  Now she's too busy to sit still and rarely do I ever get to hold her while she's sleeping.  Landry has changed so much in just a year.  Here's some tidbits of what's going on in her world:

  • Weight: 22.15 lbs (50-75%)
  • Length: 29.4" (50-75%)
  • Head: 18" (50-75%)
  • Size 4 diapers
  • 12-18 month clothes
  • Eats everything in sight.  Loves bananas.
  • We're working on getting rid of the bottle but she'll push a sippy cup away in the morning and before bed because she wants a bottle.
  • Climbs everything
  • No fear
  • Hard headed and very determined but gets her feelings hurt very quick
  • Walking everywhere
  • Sleeps 8:00p to 7:30a
  • Loves to put things where they belong.  She's very good at watching and knowing when something is out of place.  She'll go put it back.
  • Her and Addison are starting to play together now.  However they do get frustrated with each other in the bathtub.  Landry doesn't understand that splashing gets annoying after a while.
  • Snorts when laughing

Is Tigger Real?

Aunt Katie had a big Tigger that Landry was trying to decide if he was real or pretend.  It was hilarious watching her try to warm up to him to finally go and touch him to make sure he wasn't real and going to get her.  She thought he was so funny.
 Let the curiosity begin
 Funny face
 Maybe I'll touch him....
Ok...I did it - I touched him.

Murphy's Christmas Celebration

So I've already posted the picture of the girls meeting Santa at the City of Murphy Christmas Celebration, but we took a few other pictures from the event.

The evening started off with us having to park in a remote location and riding a school bus over to the City Hall.  Let's just say, Addison was beside herself.  She was so excited.  She was grinning ear to ear the entire ride there and back.
Disclaimer: was not prepared to get my picture taken with no makeup

 Loves her some candy canes

 Christmas Spirit???

We love you girls - promise!!

Addison also got to get into a firetruck.  So in one night she got to ride in a school bus and get in a firetruck.  Addison's Christmas was made just from those two things.  She loves anything with wheels - bus, tractor, car, etc.

A Spoon Full of Sugar

Addison and I got to have some one on one time while Landry was taking a nap.  She loves to help in the kitchen, so we decided to cook brownies.  She starting eating the batter before we even had it all mixed together.  This girl loves her some brownies.  I look forward to us girls cooking holiday meals in the kitchen together in years to come.  The magic of having your girls in the kitchen with you.  You have their undivided attention and something about a kitchen brings everyone together.

Mmmmm good
She insisted that I take her picture on the step stool by the Christmas tree
Her new "cheese"

Snuggle Bugs

These little girls love to hang out in Daddy's recliner and watch cartoons in the morning.  Addison feels so special when I get the big quilt out and tuck them in real tight.  I hope that there are many more of these snuggle times together for these two.
