Under the Weather

During December, Addison was having problems with coughing, fever, and runny nose.  After a few days of not feeling too hot we loaded her up and went to the doctor.  Luckily it wasn't flu, but we had to go to Children's Hospital (Plano) to get an x-ray to make sure she didn't have pneumonia.  She ended up having bronchitis.  A few breathing treatments later and some antibiotics she was good to go.  Since this was our third time to do breathing treatments with either Addison or Landry, we went ahead and bought a breathing machine.  I knew we need need it at least one more time, if not more.  We have actually started using it this week.  Addison won't stop coughing but doesn't have any fever.  Lovely Texas weather isn't helping either.  It can't decide if it's winter or spring.

Momma's Love

It's so rare that I get a picture with me and the girls, so I am thankful that a few were caught on camera during the Christmas break.  Oh how I love these two.  They make me want to be a better person and I strive to show them how much they are loved.

Landry Mopping

As parents we all know that our children watch everything we do and say, even if we don't want them to.  As they grow you start to realize how fast and how often they pick up on things without you realizing it.  That is just the case with our little Landry Belle and mopping.

Jordan and I were cleaning house the Sunday before New Years Eve.  Jordan mopped the entire house and a fine job he did.  On New Years Eve I had to work, so Jordan kept the girls.  I get a call from Jordan during the middle of my work day and I can tell from his voice he is frustrated.

The story starts out like this.

Courtney, you will not believe what Landry just did.  Addison told me she had to go potty, so she went by herself (we are working on her going potty without any help).  He said it was really quite for a few minutes, so he decided to check on Addison and Landry.  He realized they were in the restroom, so he walked in there to discover Landry mopping.  The girls had received a cleaning set (mop, broom, etc) from their Gingy and Landry was using the mop as she had seen her Daddy do the day before.  The important detail of this little story is that older sister Addison had not flushed the toilet after going #2 in the potty and Landry used the toilet water for her water to clean the bathroom floor.  I'll give you a second to figure that one out.

Yes, that's right...Landry was using dirty toilet water to "clean" the bathroom floor.

lolololololololol

Poor Jordan had just mopped their bathroom the day before and now he was having to do it all over again because there is poopy water on the floor.  Needless to say I was laughing so hard my eyes were watering.  Oh the things your children learn.

Love for MeeMaw

The pictures below are priceless and I will treasure them forever.  They demonstrate the love that both my mom and Landry have for one another and it brings tears to my eyes.  I can only pray that Landry will know and learn so many of the great qualities that my mom has and shows my girls constantly.  We love you MeeMaw!!

Happy New Years

I love this man!!!!  What a great way to bring in the new year than with the love of my life.  Gingy and Coach kept the girls for the night and we got some adult time.  No big plans just good food, an early bedtime, good adult conversation, and sleeping in.

Aquarium

During the Christmas break, we knew it would be a good time to spend with the girls getting out and enjoying some new places.  One stop we made was the Dallas North Aquarium.  The aquarium was so neat and the girls loved it.  I wish I would have gotten more pictures but there were people everywhere and they wouldn't stay still for anything.  Maybe we'll try to go back when it's not so busy (not a Saturday).

Watch me Grow

At the beginning of December, our MeeMee gave us these lovely bulbs to the girls to watch them grow throughout the month.  They started out as just bulbs in the rocks and grew to the flowers below.  The girls had the best time putting watch in the vases and checking each morning to see if there was a flower at the end.  Luckily, they came through for us and gave us a few flowers.  What a neat project.  Thanks MeeMee.

Our Christmas

Jordan and I made sure we got up before the girls to have the Christmas tree lights on, etc.  I thought the girls might get up a little bit earlier than normal due to anticipation of Santa Claus coming but I was wrong.  Addison woke up around 7:15a and she immediately saw the Christmas tree surrounded with toys and wrapped presents.  She yelled at Jordan and I to hurry, Santa Claus came.  She ran and woke up Landry and the fun began.  We don't do a lot of gifts, because they get so many from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and also to stay with remembering what the real reason for the season is.

Big gifts for Addison: grill, baby stroller
Big gifts for Landry: Mickey Mouse 3 wheeler, Little Tykes car thing

They both got pajamas, books, stocking stuffers.  What a difference a year makes.  Both of them were so excited and wanted to open everything right then.
