Happy Father's Day
My picture taking is taking a backseat these days for some reason. I've got to get better, because I'll wish I would have a decade later. For now, our blog will just have to suffer until I get better.
We had a great Father's Day. Jordan got a new pair of shorts and a "survival kit" for his car. I saw it online and since he's in his car all the time I knew it would be perfect. It had everything from hand sanitizer, bleach pen, wipes, etc. You get the drift. I don't know how excited he was about it, but I know he'll appreciate it in time.
Thank you to the fathers in our lives - Jordan, Jimmy, and and Marty. We appreciate all that you do for our families.
This little girl lights up every time she sees her Daddy. I'm sure DaDa will be her first word.
We now have to secure her in the seat.
They both look tired, but Landry is the lucky one. Too much ESPN, huh?

New York City-For Adults Only
With Jordan was in New Jersey training for his new job, I got to go up for a long weekend to visit him and stay in New York. It was great for just the two of us. We had a great time and enjoyed adult time. I am so grateful that we are able to do these kinds of things. I have the best husband and best friend and I love just hanging out with him, and that's just what we did. We just hung out, ate, and drank.
Our first trip to the city was filled with lots of site seeing and this time we just took it easy. One thing we did decide to do though was take a helicopter trip. It was great. I would definitely recommend. I have video footage, but it's really shaky from the ride.
Last trip we did the subway the majority of the time, but this time we took taxis or walked most places. The weather was pretty good and I wasn't pregnant, so we were able to walk more this time. Jordan and I thought we would try the bicycle taxi since we weren't going far. Now that we've done it, I would NOT recommend. It cost us $35 to go about 1/2 mile. Seriously. I guess we should have been better at reading the prices on the side of the buggy. Live and learn right?

Addison
So what has this little girl been up to lately?
- Keeps Mommy & Daddy guessing what mood she's going to be in from one minute to the next
- Talking nonstop and making sure you hear her every word
- Favorite words/phrases right now: shampoo, oopsadaisy, sit down now, wash hands, Addison potty, please, thank you
- Very good at changing subjects when she's getting in trouble (I think I know where she gets that from - his name starts with a J)
- Loves to show and tell you everything that she is doing
- Becoming more independent
- Getting the hang of potty training - meaning she's telling us that she needs to go and holding it until we get to the potty. We're not quite there all the way, but I think this is a big step forward.
- Wants to help feed Landry and starting to want to involve Landry is her activities and show her what she's doing
- Always wants to be outside, especially in the water. Helps water the flowers
- Starting to sit for longer periods of time to watch a movie (15+ minutes)
- Favorite foods: pizza, brocoli, ice cream, cheese chex mix

Not wanting to take a picture after church - "No Way, No Way" were exact words |
It's been so hot lately that I've let her just play in the sink in the kitchen with spoons, bowls, etc. to keep her entertained. Daddy's not really a fan, but let's it slide.

Sitting Up
Landry started really sitting up on her own last week for long periods of time. Yeah! I'm so glad she has a new view rather than laying on her belly/back and the bouncer. She gets so excited when she reaches and gets something that she is eying.

From New Boston to New York
Tomorrow the girls and I will meet my mom and grandmother in Sulphur Springs, so the girls can go home with my mom to New Boston for the weekend. Jordan is in New Jersey training for his job, so I'm headed up there Friday to meet him to hang out in the Big Apple for the weekend. I am so excited. The last time we went to New York we were rushing around (5 months pregnant) trying to make sure we saw everything. This time we're just going to take it easy and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city.
Since all 3 of us girls in the house are going on trips, I have been hard at work getting everyone packed. As you can imagine getting 3 girls packed is a feat in itself. I'm sure I will forget something even though I have my lists for my lists. Thankfully my mom will have a few major/big items already at my parents' house.
I think the girls will have a great time, and I know Jordan and I will appreciate the adult time together. My goal is to be better at taking pictures of our trip than last time.

What We Do Best
What we do best....that's hanging out at the house. Our little household is starting to get much more active, so I'm sure hanging out around the house will start getting less and less. I love my house, but I'm ready to really start getting out and doing stuff with the girls. Landry is now 6 months (doctor's appt on Thursday) so she's much more alert and enjoys a change of scenery too.
This one's for you Robin
She's starting to do a mini jump in the bouncer

Potty Training - Making Progress
So we started up potty training with Miss Addison on Memorial Day weekend. We've been at it for 8 days now, and I think she's doing really well. I was kind of worried that maybe I had started it too early, but I'm confident that we will conquer this. She tells us when she needs to go, but now we're just dealing with her not wanting to take the time to go even after she tells us. We're doing the reward after going potty of getting a sticker.
She's waking up from naps dry, which I think is awesome! So the next big step is bed time. I think we'll need a little bit more time for that one. I've got to break her habit of wanting milk around 7:00p before she goes to bed around 8:00p. That's going to be harder to break than taking away her bottle.
I don't want to celebrate just yet, but I am so proud of our little girl!!!! It kind of makes me sad that she's growing up so fast, but I know that this is just one step in her little life's journey that I will tear up over.

Memorial Day
We spent a little time at the neighborhood pool on Memorial Day. It was kind of cloudy outside and the water was very cold. As parents of a 26 and 6 month old our goal was to last 30 minutes. I am proud to say that we lasted for a whole hour. Yeah!!!
Can you say pasty?
Her lips were staring to turn purple.
I'll be glad when she is completely potty trained and we can take her in the big pool and down the yellow slide. I think we'll be in the big pool for sure within the next month. More on potty training soon.

Happy Birthday "Toach"
We are so excited to celebrate "Toach's" birthday. As we get older we always say that it's just another day, but really is it? No!!! It's YOUR birthday! It is the day that God chose to welcome to the world. We should celebrate each birthday by looking back on the past year and all the great memories that we have made and look forward to what God has for us in the coming year. So here's "Toach's" (Addison's pronunciation of Coach) birthday! We love you and thank you for being such a great dad and grandfather.
