Bounce House

A few weeks ago, Aunt Deb took the girls for the day.  The ended up picking up Bryce (cousin) and going to the trampoline place.  The girls loved it.  The pictures are blurry but they had huge smiles on their face.  They love spending time with their Aunt Deb.  She always has something cool to do and they come home worn out.  We are so blessed!!

Our Little Fish

Landry has become quite the little swimmer this summer.  Both girls had swim lessons for seven days (periodically).  The lady, Stephanie Owens was so patient.  The first few days were not good at all for Landry.  Gingy took the girls to their first four visits and Landry yelled "Gingy" the entire 30 minute session she had.  After we saw a video of her yelling the entire time, Jordan and I decided that it might be best if we took them to their lessons and got in the pool with the instructor to help out in any way possible.  Stephanie was not only patient with the girls but us also.  She taught us a lot and showed a lot of things to work on with the girls.  The videos below show how great Landry is doing.  Addison was being a rear end last night at lessons so she didn't get camera time.  Addison will cling to you unless you make her let go and then she'll swim to the edge.  She would much rather have her floaty on and not have to hold her breath, etc.  I know that with time she'll want to not get left behind by little sister.

New Adventure: CiCi's Pizza

The girls had their first adventure to CiCi's pizza.  We have eaten their pizza To Go but never gone inside.  Something about a buffet and germs.  Jordan thought we should take them so off we went last Sunday.

While we were there I have a story that I must write about so Landry can remember it for later.  We went around 4:30p to eat, so there were about 10 people in the restaurant at the time.  Everyone got their pizza and ate.  Of course Addison and Landry were "finished" first.  They asked to go play on the arcade games in the back of restaurant.  We said yes because there weren't a lot of people and we could see them for the most part.  Jordan and I continued eating while they played and ran back to the table numerous times.  Both us were taking turns going to the arcade games to check on them and assist with the games.  At one point Addison had come back to the table to eat some more with Jordan and I at the table.  Therefore Landry was back there by herself.  No problem.  She was "playing" the games.  It was my turn to go check on her, so I got up and went to the back of the restaurant and looked and looked and could not find her.  I swear my heart stopped at this point.  I looked everywhere in the back of the restaurant (restrooms, arcade games, employee areas) and I couldn't find her.  I immediately went back towards the front yelling for Jordan.  He was cool, calm, and collective and said she couldn't have gone far.  Really?  We both looked everywhere in the back of the restaurant.  I went back towards the front to look around there.  As I was walking to the front I hear Jordan call for me.  He had found her.

Where was she?  In the men's restroom.  Jordan had gone in there to check and she was flushing the toilet and turned around and said "Daddy I poopoo."  She thought she was so big and had done it all by herself.  Jordan said he couldn't get mad, he just smiled and said good job honey.  I laughed so hard.  Really?  She had no idea that her momma was panicked and scared to death.  What are we going to do with this kid?  She definitely keeps us on our feet.

Wynn Wedding

Momma and Daddy got a long weekend together a week ago to celebrate Chad Wynn's wedding.  We are so thankful for my parents and grandparents for keeping the girls from Thursday-Sunday.  It was nice to have a few days to have "adult" time.  Jordan was able to hang out with a lot of his friends back from high school and college.

I love this guy!!!
Ross, Jordan, Michael, Mac, Ed, Sanchez
Ashley and Michael
We went to the Stockyards on Saturday afternoon.  I can't believe this is the first time I've ever been to the Fort Worth Stockyards and I've lived in the DFW area for 13 years.  We stopped at the White Elephant bar for a few beverages.

New Boston: July Visit

We had a wedding to attend last weekend, so my mom picked the girls up last Thursday and kept them to Sunday.  Let me just tell you.  I don't know what we would do without family.  Both of our families are amazing.  They love our girls so much and are always willing to watch them, and the girls wouldn't have it any other way.  They love to spend time with all of the grandparents.  Their great grandparents kept them Friday while my mom and dad worked (above is a picture that MeeMee sent from her iPhone).  I showed this to Jordan and told him that I don't remember being able to get underneath tables when I was little.  It's funny how the great grandchildren get a little more leniency than we did as grandchildren.  Hey, life is short.  Thanks again to our generous family.

Landry's Room Before

A little sneak peak at the before of Landry's room.  Hideous, boring I know.  Unfortunately she's the second child, and I didn't put much effort into her room.  However, all of her items that have been backordered are shipping out today, so by next weekend her room should be coming close to being completed.

Hayden-Amber Shower

This sweet couple is getting married soon.  Aren't they just precious?  Hayden, Jordan's cousin and Amber had a family shower/dinner at Dean and Barbara's house a few weeks ago.  We showered them with food and gifts.

They have a blast together.  We are so excited that Jack is moving back to the DFW area.  There will be many playdates to come.

4th of July

For the 4th we went over to Aunt Deb and Uncle Rene's house.  They did such a great job hosting family and friends.  We had a great time.  We ate way too much good food and had a prime seat for fireworks.  I wish I would have gotten more pictures.  After good food, we went to the golf course to get a front row seat of the fireworks.  Landry actually rode in Rene's lap to the golf course.  We're making progress with Rene and the girls.

We are so thankful for our freedoms and family.  May remember those men and women that died for our freedoms.  We will be forever grateful.

Landry's Room Redo

Since we decided we might be at our little home a few more years (not too long Jordan) I wanted to work on Landry's room.  She has always gotten the hand me downs from Addison (bed, duvet cover, etc.).  I'm sure redecorating her room was her idea (yeah right).  Momma gets bored so we start redecorating.

Pottery Barn Teen was having a sale on their bedding, so I jumped at it.  I had been looking at Pottery Barn Kids, but the duvet covers were boring.  I wanted something with color.  I decided on the Pop Paisley Duvet Cover.  Unfortunately it's on backorder and won't ship to mid July.  However they did go ahead and mailed me a pillow case which allowed me to work on what color to paint her room.  I couldn't decide and get nervous picking out colors.  I don't want it to not match.  I used the resource that Pottery Barn offers that I am now in love with.  You can either call, email, in-store consultation, or home consultation for free.  What????  I was all in.  I emailed them that I had purchased the duvet cover but wasn't sure on the color.  Wouldn't you know in less that 24 hours they had sent me suggestions!!!  Yipee!!!  They saved me from many sleepless nights.  I chose to go with Caribbean Breeze.  I think it will make all the furniture pop.

I'm going to try and take before pictures of her room.  Jordan and I are going to paint her room Thursday and Friday while they're in New Boston.  Hopefully she'll love it.  Just having a room specifically decorated for her will get her excited.

Sidewalk Chalk

Last week the weather was awesome.  It was 60 degrees in the morning and 80-90 degrees in the evenings.  Let me just tell you, that doesn't happen in Texas in the summer.  But with that weather, we took full advantage of spending time outside.  Needless to say, normal bedtime (8:00p - 8:30p) did not apply last week.  We spent a lot of time drawing on the driveway.  It's times like these that I just want to soak up and never end.  Their little laughs and running around makes my heart smile.  With iPhones, iPads, etc. everywhere now, it makes me happy that our girls would rather be outside.  There's nothing like fresh air for the soul.

First Baptist Dallas Fountain

A couple of weeks ago, we were driving through downtown and I thought how neat it would be to see the First Baptist Dallas fountain.  What a beautiful sight.  I told Jordan that I could just bring a lawn chair out there an watch the fountain and listen to the music playing for an evening.  They had hymns playing, oh how I miss good old hymns.

Happy 8th Anniversary

July 2, 2013: Happy 8th Anniversary

When you're a young woman you start to really think about what kind of man you would like to marry.  Throughout life you have take mental notes of the qualities that you would like to him to possess.  When you're young, you think you'll get everything on your list but as most of us know not everyone's perfect.  I however, think I came about as close as I could ask for.  God made the perfect man for me.  We both have our flaws, but overall I couldn't ask for someone better for me and our girls.  He is one of the most unselfish people I know.  He always strives to be the best husband, best friend, and father.  Daily he helps with the house, yard, girls, etc.  He has never forsaken me and I have never not trusted him.  He makes me smile, laugh, and feel like the most beautiful bride.  I cannot think him enough for completing my life 8 years ago.  I love you Jordan Austin Griffin.  I look forward to another 8 years.  May our future together be as bright as the first eight were.
